“Remember the Ladies”: Women, Health & Medicine during the American Revolution

Join METC and National Park Service volunteer docent Joel Farkas in exploring the role of women during the American Revolution virtually on June 23 at 7pm. From attitudes toward women and their position in society to women’s role in 18th century healthcare, this lecture draws on the writings of women such as Abigail Adams, Lucy Knox and Martha Ballard to bring to light this frequently overlooked aspect of the conflict. Joel Farkas is a docent at Washington’s Headquarters, a lecturer at the Florham Institute for Lifelong Learning at Fairleigh Dickinson University and a regular presenter on various topics related to the American Revolution. Pre-registration is required for access to the Zoom link. Tickets are $10 for Nonmembers and free for METC members. Click here to register!
