NJ REVOLUTIONARY SITES Prints by artist Lucille Hobbie
These twelve prints on display were commissioned by the Jersey Central Power & Light Company to commemorate the 1976 bicentennial. Lucille Hobbie, a local artist, was asked to reimagine these sites as they appeared in their original time period. Ms. Hobbie was a self-taught artist who was born in Boonton in 1915 and eventually settled in Mendham. Described as a visual poet who loved historic preservation, her works have been collected by many notable institutions, including the Montclair Art Museum and Colonial Williamsburg. In tribute to the 2026 semiquincentennial, METC is proud to showcase these prints.
A mobile tour is available onsite with more information, including how these sites look today!
