Greetings From Historic Madison

During the holiday season, Madison resembles a scene out of a Hallmark movie. This time of year, everyone in the community gathers to see the annual Christmas Parade on Main Street, crowds around Waverly Place to view the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, visits Madison’s very own Santa, and strolls around the festive downtown. This year, the Rose City may look a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and new traditions sparked by the pandemic have caused many families to stay closer to home and incorporate virtual holiday celebrations.

Fortunately, the Rose City remains a stalwart of consistency during this pandemic with shops and restaurants offering new ways to enjoy their services, and local signs around town encouraging Madisonians to “stick together” and “don’t give up.” From the initial settlement of Bottle Hill ca. 1710 to present-day Madison, our small enclave of New Jersey has remained a close-knit community anchored around its historic district.
