We welcome historian Mike Snyder to discuss the impact and history of slavery in Morris County. His presentation, as part of METC’s lecture series, examines local slaveholders and enslaved people from the Revolution to the end of the Civil War, connecting different pieces of evidence to tell untold stories, help change the narrative, and give voice and agency to marginalized people.
Mr. Snyder was the 2012 recipient of the David Michael Friedlander Award for academic achievement from the history department at Rutgers University.
METC receives an operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State.
The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts is situated on Lenapehoking, the ancestral land of the Lenape people. We pay respect to Lenape people of the past, present, and future.
