DESCRIPTION:From puppet play to storybook! Delve into narrative arts on Saturday\, March 8th at 1PM and create mice and other finger and stick puppets out of paper\, fabric\, and mixed media scraps. Guided by Book Arts Artist Mickey Waring\, each participant will create their unique critter character and props for them to interact with. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, participants will work with a Book Arts Artist to create their own book structure commonly known as a “squash” book or as an “explosion” book. This dynamic book will be the center of your collection because when finished\, it folds flat and ties shut\, but when opened\, it unfolds in several directions. \nThis workshop on February 22 at 1PM is open to adults (15 and over). Participants\, please bring a heavy book (like a textbook) in a plastic bag to use as a weight on the book as it is being constructed. All other materials and tools will be provided. This workshop is limited to 10 adults. His presentation\, as part of METC’s lecture series\, examines local slaveholders and enslaved people from the Revolution to the end of the Civil War\, connecting different pieces of evidence to tell untold stories\, help change the narrative\, and give voice and agency to marginalized people.  \nRegistration is required.
