SUMMARY:Hand Lettering Workshop: Make Something Special - November
DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Early Trades & Crafts is partnering with The Book Arts Roundtable to offer a hand lettering workshop\, taught by artists Ann Vollum and Chris Schorr. The session will include instruction on design and hand lettering of a small (4” X 6”) art project that can be framed. All materials are provided. \nWhether you are a beginner or someone who’d love to practice their hand-lettering skills with a pro\, you will enjoy shaping letters and layout to transform a word or phrase into art. These are user-friendly skills to develop and endlessly interesting to play with. This workshop is open to all participants with a good grasp of handwriting skills. \nThis workshop is now full and registration is closed.  \nPlease note this workshop will be making the same project as the September group. Please do not sign up for both. Thank you. \nFunding has been made possible in part by funds from Morris Arts through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/ Department of State\, a partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

SUMMARY:Summer Concert Series: Peter & the Master Keys
DESCRIPTION:METC’s free Summer Concert Series sponsored by the DDC is back! Enjoy a FREE night of music this summer on Fridays from 6-8pm. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit and listen to some great performances. \nOn August 4\, we’re getting jazzy with Peter & the Master Keys! Peter & the Master Keys’ music is the perfect blend of cool sophistication and rootsy soul. Specializing in American jazz and blues from the 40’s through 60’s (with a dash of rock n’ roll thrown into the mix)\, they pay homage to an earlier era of live music when real musicians played real instruments with finesse and feeling to connect to the audience. With three horns (trumpet\, tenor sax\, baritone sax) and a robust rhythm section (keys\, guitar\, upright bass\, drums)\, you might even call them a “little” big band!
