SUMMARY:Introduction to Native Plants
DESCRIPTION:Our pollinators are in peril and native plants bring butterflies and birds! Join us on Wednesday\, May 24\, from 7-8pm to learn how to support biodiversity and create your own eco- paradise. You will go home with ideas for easy-care and beautiful native shrubs and flowers for different soil and sun conditions. This workshop is perfect for beginners. This event is in-person\, but a zoom link is available for those who would like to attend virtually. Free for METC members\, $10 for non-members. \nAbout the speaker: Deb Ellis is an environmental activist\, community builder\, and teacher. She is passionate about her work teaching how to use native plants to promote biodiversity and heal the Earth. She is the founder and leader of the Essex County chapter of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey\, a Master Gardener\, and a Rutgers Environmental Steward. Deb has served on the Montclair Environmental Commission and has a Certified Backyard Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. A retired social justice lawyer\, she was named a Champion of Change by the Obama White House in 2011. \nRegister here: https://app.donorview.com/Xw8xQ
