The special exhibit Food for Thought: Food and Cooking in Colonial America ran from February 3, 2009 through January 15, 2010. It was described as follows: No matter who you are or what time period it is, everyone enjoys food, including the people of Colonial America.
Food for Thought offers a tasty visual experience of Colonial proportions. Discover what a typical Early American meal consisted of and how it was made. Learn about the different foods eaten at the time and imagine yourself being the one who had to prepare the different meals of the day using their same techniques and recipes. Visitors will also have the opportunity to compare kitchen utensils used back then to those of modern times.Here are some of the objects that were on display in the exhibit.
